What does a day on our sales department look like?

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a webshop? Completely understandable! In this blog, we’ll give you a glimpse into a typical day in our sales department.

We always start our day with a team meeting to discuss ongoing inquiries, quotes, and orders. What action points need to be addressed? What requires extra attention? And what exciting projects do we have in progress?

Next, we review the production schedule with our colleague from order management—of course, while enjoying a cup of coffee. Since we work in a small team, we can closely monitor each order from start to finish. We stay informed about every step of the production process to ensure that our delivery times and quality standards are met. Our office is located right next to the production area, allowing us to see all displays before they are shipped to the customer.

I check my inbox and immediately spot a few tasks to tackle. I forward the approvals for the print proofs to my colleague in the DTP department so he can proceed with them. These orders are then initiated in the production process. Every print file we receive from our customers is carefully reviewed by our DTP department.

New inquiries are discussed with my fellow sales colleague. What exactly is the customer looking for? We always strive to gather as much information as possible. The key question is always: what is the goal of the customer’s campaign? Is it a communicative display or a product-carrying display?

Our goal is to create a stunning display that perfectly aligns with the customer’s objectives. We always provide tailored advice. Based on the type of product, quantity, and dimensions, we propose the most suitable display. A display for chocolate bars, for example, doesn’t always have to be a standard pallet display. A counter display or dispenser might be a better fit. We always consider which display suits the product, the customer, and the store where it will be placed. Once we’ve determined the best option, one of our designers starts working on the display’s design, and we review the concept together.

From order management, we receive updates on orders that require action. We call customers to remind them if they haven’t yet submitted their artwork or if their print proofs still need approval before production can begin.

We also begin handling new quote requests. Our calculator has provided several cost calculations, allowing us to send out tailored quotes. If needed, our designers create blank models or sketches to enhance the quotes, giving customers a clear visual representation of the display we have in mind. Approved quotes are then processed in our system and passed on to our order management colleagues.

Throughout the day, emails and phone calls keep coming in—new display requests that we can develop and put into motion. The most exciting challenge remains brainstorming creative concepts together. Thanks to our relatively small team and our in-house production capabilities, we can oversee every step of the process. This ensures that our customers always receive a professional, well-thought-out, and personalized proposal.

Best regards,
